The Following Classes Comprise the Marine Detailing Course
Boat detailing, like Aircraft and
Automotive, can be very rewarding. As with all jobs, effort and professionalism can bring great satisfaction for a job well done. In the Marine course, students are taught the proper procedures and techniques for determining pricing, which chemicals and compounds to use and how to determine the oxidation layer of the Gel-Coat.
INTERIORS
Students are taught the correct and safe procedures in detailing the boat's interior, seats, carpet, wells, storage areas, instrument panels, wood and stainless trim, as well as which chemicals work best and which don't.
EXTERIOR
Students are taught the proper use of high-speed buffers, compounds ,sealants and how to remove the oxidation and protect the gel-coat. Students also learn which areas of the boat that are not to be polished and those that require special care. "Should I have the boat removed from the water?" or "Can I perform most detailing procedures while the boat is in the water?". Saftey practices are also taught about using electrical devices when around water.
