As an Aviation Consultant and licensed multi-engine pilot, Richard Needham has over 20 years of teaching experience in the Aircraft, Automotive and Marine industry. Mr.Needham is a seasoned aviation professional and businessperson, owning a business, servicing aircraft in the local Dallas/Ft. Worth area. In addition Mr. Needham oversees the training efforts as Director of Training and Chief Instructor with The Leading Edge Institute.
Mr. Needham designed the instructional curriculum and the classes needed for the Aircraft Detailing Certification Program. Richard’s philosophy is “safety first and foremost” in his instructional program. He teaches the safe and correct procedures to detailing jet, piston and turbine aircraft.
Richard began his teaching career in the computer industry as a hardware/software instructor and advanced to the V.P. of Sales and Marketing of a ‘Fortune 500’ Computer Company. After acquiring his multi-engine rating Richard became heavily involved in the Chemical and Aviation Industries; and realizing there was a definite need for proper education and training in the Aviation Cosmetic Detailing Field, he formed Leading Edge Institute in 1995.
